Sportime Recalls Sports Balls

Comments Off

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall of foam balls, sold by Sportime, because the surface paint on the balls contains excessive levels of lead.

The company has not received any reports of illness in connection with this recall.

The foam balls involved in the recall include: SchoolSmart TechnoSkin Coated Foam Balls and TechStitched Soccer Balls. The CPSC Web site has photos of the recalled toys for reference. The balls were sold in blue, green, yellow, orange and purple.

The sport balls should be taken away from young children. Consumers should contact the company directly for a refund or replacement product.

Call Sportime toll-free at (888) 388-3224 or visit www.SchoolSpecialty.com.
